(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, November 20, 2017 ) LBS uses GIS technology and the Internet to track the location of users within a wireless network using location-enabled mobile devices. User-initiated LBS requires an Internet connection to obtain a user's location and provide search results.
Indoor LBS is used to track the location of objects or people inside a building or a specific area. Since it is confined to a very limited area and requires high accuracy, indoor LBS uses only wireless networks such as Wi-Fi and wireless local area network (WLAN), Ultra-wideband (UWB), Bluetooth, Assisted GPS (A-GPS), micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS), and other hybrid technologies. It is used in various public places such as universities, hospitals, stadiums, shopping malls, government offices, airports, warehouses, hotels, and parking areas. Publisher's analysts forecast the enterprise indoor LBS market in the US to grow at a CAGR of 47.58% during the period 2016-2020.
